Professor Chao-Nan Qian is the company's Founder. Dr. Chao-Nan (Miles) Qian obtained his Bachelor in Medicine (equivalent to MD in the US) and PhD at Sun Yat-sen University's Medical Sciences, P. R. China in 1992 and 1999, respectively. He completed his postdoctoral training at the University of Texas's MD Anderson Cancer Center, and the Van Andel Research Institute in Michigan. Both of which provided him with great opportunities to explore the fields of tumor metastasis. He was appointed as a Research Scientist at the Van Andel Research Institute in 2004 and the Deputy Director of the Laboratory of Translational Cancer Research at the National Cancer Center Singapore in 2007. He then returned to Sun Yat-sen University, becoming a Professor at Sun Yat-sen University Cancer Center (SYSUCC) in June 2007. He was made Assistant to the President of SYSUCC in 2008, and Vice President of SYSUCC in 2013. In March 2019, Professor Qian was appointed as the President of Guangzhou Concord Cancer Center.  With over 160 scientific publications, Professor Qian has been in receipt of multiple reversed research grants including one key grant and four general grants from the National Natural Science Foundation of China. He also serves as a grant reviewer for the Medical Research Council of the United Kingdom, and the National Natural Science Foundation of China, as well as, a reviewer for 41 reputable scientific journals.  Professor Qian is also a referee for the Changjiang Scholars Award which is overseen by the Ministry of Education of the People's Republic of China.
