Professor Chao-Nan (Miles) Qian, MD, PhD

Professor Chao-Nan Qian is a physician-scientist, oncology leader, and internationally recognized expert in cancer metastasis research. He earned his Bachelor of Medicine degree and PhD in Medical Sciences from Sun Yat-sen University, China, in 1992 and 1999, respectively.

Following his doctoral training, Professor Qian completed postdoctoral research at the MD Anderson Cancer Center of The University of Texas and the Van Andel Research Institute in Michigan, where he further developed his expertise in tumor metastasis biology and translational cancer research.

In 2004, he was appointed Research Scientist at the Van Andel Research Institute. He later served as Deputy Director of the Laboratory of Translational Cancer Research at the National Cancer Centre Singapore. In 2007, he returned to China as Professor at the Sun Yat-sen University Cancer Center (SYSUCC), where he subsequently served as Assistant to the President and later as Vice President. In 2019, he was appointed President of Guangzhou Concord Cancer Center.

Professor Qian has authored more than 200 peer-reviewed scientific publications and has led numerous nationally funded research programs, including projects supported by the National Natural Science Foundation of China. He has also served as a grant reviewer for major funding agencies, including the UK Medical Research Council and the National Natural Science Foundation of China, and as a reviewer for numerous international scientific journals.

With more than two decades of leadership in cancer research, clinical translation, and healthcare innovation, Professor Qian founded Exploring Health LLC with a clear mission: to develop breakthrough therapies that prevent cancer metastasis and improve the lives of patients worldwide.
